Issei Takayanagi (髙柳 一誠, Takayanagi Issei, born September 14, 1986) is a Japanese former football player. He played as a Midfielder. After his playing career, he became an assistant manager for the JFL club, Okinawa SV.

Issei Takayanagi's Football Journey
Issei Takayanagi started his football journey in 1999. He joined the youth team of Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played for their youth squad until 2004.
Playing for Sanfrecce Hiroshima
In 2004, Issei Takayanagi joined the senior team of Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played as a midfielder for this club for many years. During his time there, he played in 110 league games. He scored 3 goals for the team.
He also helped Sanfrecce Hiroshima reach the finals of important tournaments. They were runners-up in the 2010 J.League Cup and the 2007 Emperor's Cup.
Moving to Other Clubs
After leaving Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Takayanagi played for several other Japanese clubs. In 2012, he joined Consadole Sapporo. He then moved to Vissel Kobe in 2013, where he played for two seasons.
