Ituzaingó (Spanish pronunciation: [itusajŋˈɡo]) is an important city in Argentina. It is the main city of the Ituzaingó Partido, which is like a county or district. It's part of the larger Greater Buenos Aires area, located west of the big city of Buenos Aires.
About Ituzaingó
Ituzaingó became the capital of its own "Partido" (municipality) in 1995. Before that, it was part of another area. For a long time, very tall buildings were not allowed here. This is why most houses are only one story high.
The main shopping area is close to the train station. This station connects Ituzaingó with downtown Buenos Aires City. The shops are around a central square, right across from the church. On weekends and holidays, this square often hosts fun events. You might find concerts, cultural shows, or local fairs there.
Ituzaingó is about 28 kilometers (17 miles) away from Buenos Aires City. It covers an area of about 38.51 square kilometers (14.87 sq mi). The city is known for its quiet streets and many trees. Many homes here are French-style chalets. In 2010, about 168,419 people lived in Ituzaingó.
One special part of the city is Parque Leloir. This area is one of the biggest protected natural zones in the province. It's also a peaceful place with large houses. Many famous people choose to live here.
