Iván Bolado's Club Career
Starting at Racing Santander
Iván Bolado began his professional football journey in his hometown of Santander. He joined Racing de Santander, a well-known club. His first game with the main team was in 2007.
In his first season, 2007–08, he scored three goals. One of these goals was very important. It happened in the last minutes of the final game. Racing Santander won 1–0 against CA Osasuna. This win helped his team qualify for the UEFA Europa League (then called the UEFA Cup) for the first time ever. His first game in La Liga, Spain's top football league, was on August 26, 2007. It was a 0–0 draw against FC Barcelona.
Loan to Elche and Injuries
In August 2008, Iván went on loan to Elche CF. This team played in the Segunda División, which is Spain's second division. He stayed there for one season.
He returned to Racing Santander in June 2009. However, he faced a big challenge. He got a serious knee injury during pre-season training. This injury kept him from playing for most of the 2009–10 season.
Returning to Play
After recovering, Iván started playing again. In one of his first games back, on March 29, 2010, he scored two goals. One of them was an amazing bicycle kick! Even with his goals, Racing Santander lost 3–4 to Athletic Bilbao.
In the 2010–11 season, he played in 19 games. He scored one goal, again against Athletic Bilbao, but his team lost 1–2.
Moving to Other Clubs
In February 2012, Iván moved to Bulgaria. He signed with PFC CSKA Sofia. Sadly, in his very first match with the team, he got another serious injury. He tore the ligaments in his knee. This meant he missed the rest of the 2011–12 season.
By September 2012, Iván had recovered from his injury. In March 2014, he came back to Spain. He joined Real Avilés Industrial CF, a team in the Segunda División B.
Later in 2014, Iván joined FC Pune City. This team was part of the new Indian Super League in India.
