The Iwate Museum of Art (岩手県立美術館, iwate-ken-ritsu bijutsukan) or IMA is a prefectural art museum in northern Honshu. It is at Morioka in Iwate Prefecture.
The museum's art is created by local artists such as Yorozu Tetsugoro, Matsumoto Shunsuke, and Funakoshi Yasutake.
After the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, all the temporary exhibitions during April 2011- March 2012 were canceled.
History
The museum was opened in 2001.
