Jönköpings IK is a floorball club from Jönköping, Sweden. It was started on March 9, 1985. The club was formed when two local teams, SMU Immanuel Church and Munksjö School, joined together.
The men's team has played many seasons in the top floorball league in Sweden. They reached the national finals in 1986, 1988, and 1990, but did not win the championship. However, they earned bronze medals in 1987, 1989, and 1991, showing they were one of the best teams.
What is Floorball?
Floorball is a fast-paced team sport. It is played indoors with five players and a goalie on each side. Players use sticks to hit a lightweight plastic ball. The goal is to score by shooting the ball into the opponent's net.
It is similar to ice hockey, but without ice skates or heavy protective gear. Floorball is popular in many countries, especially in Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
