James Allen Preston, born on November 13, 1932, is a retired American actor. He is well-known for his roles in movies and TV shows. Many people remember him as Colonel Randolph in the movie A Few Good Men. He also played Ozzie Cleveland in the TV series Hill Street Blues.

Early Life and Acting Career
James Allen Preston was born in Washington, D.C. on November 13, 1932. He started his acting career in 1969. Over the years, he became famous for many different roles.
He played Leo Daltry in the TV show Dallas. He was also Richard Matthews in Santa Barbara. In the movie A Few Good Men from 1992, he played a judge named Colonel J. A. Randolph. He also had a small but important role in the 1997 movie Air Force One.
Preston was a regular actor in the TV show All's Fair. This show ran for one season from 1976 to 1977. In it, he played an assistant to a newspaper writer. He also appeared in The A-Team as a judge. He was in an episode of Good Times in 1975. Later, he appeared in three episodes of Martin as Dr. Cliff Waters. He also had a role in Law & Order as Congressman Ronald Eaton.

James Allen Preston was married to Merilyn Alsop. They were married from 1957 until 1972. They had three children together: Scott, Dominique, and James Preston.
