The JPMorgan Chase Building is a tall office building located in San Francisco, California. You can find it at 560-584 Mission Street, right where the South of Market area meets the Financial District. This building was designed by a famous architect named César Pelli. It stands about 128 meters (420 feet) tall and has a lot of office space, around 65,500 square meters (705,000 square feet). It also has two levels of underground parking and a big open area called a plaza. A large part of the building is rented by JPMorgan Chase, which is a very big company. This building is one of many new tall buildings built on Mission Street since the year 2000.
Building Design and Construction
The JPMorgan Chase Building is a 31-story tower. It was finished in 2002. The building has a simple, modern look. It is covered in black steel.
The architect, César Pelli, got some ideas for the building's look from another famous San Francisco building, the Hallidie Building.
The Public Plaza
The area around the building has a special public space. People often call it one of the "best privately owned open places" in the city. It's a peaceful spot for people to relax.
This public space has a cool water feature with places to sit. There's also a grove of bamboo plants. You can see a moving sculpture called Annular Eclipse by George Rickey. The design for this outdoor area was created by Christian Lemon.
