Jean-Pierre "JP" Tokoto II (born September 15, 1993) is a professional basketball player from America and Cameroon. He plays for Ironi Ramat Gan in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball at the University of North Carolina. He has also played for teams in the NBA G League, Australia, Israel, and Spain.

High School Basketball Journey
JP Tokoto was born in Rockford, Illinois. He went to Menomonee Falls High School in Wisconsin. During his time there, he was an amazing player. As a junior, he scored about 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds per game. In his senior year, he improved even more. He averaged nearly 25 points and 11 rebounds.
He was chosen as a first-team all-state player three times. JP also set many school records. These included the most points, rebounds, and steals in the school's history. He even scored a record 48 points in one game! He was named the Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year as a junior. In 2012, he won a cool slam dunk contest in New Orleans.
College Basketball Career
Tokoto played college basketball for three years at the University of North Carolina. He was known for his awesome dunking skills and strong defense. In his junior year, he averaged 8.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. After his junior season, on April 8, 2015, he decided to enter the 2015 NBA draft to become a professional player.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting with Oklahoma City Blue (2015–2016)
On June 25, 2015, the Philadelphia 76ers picked JP Tokoto as the 58th player in the 2015 NBA draft. He joined them for the 2015 NBA Summer League. Later, he signed a contract with the 76ers. However, he was waived by the team in October after playing in five preseason games.
Soon after, he joined the Delaware 87ers, a team in the D-League (now called the NBA G League). The very next day, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Blue. During the 2015–16 season, he played 49 games for the Blue. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Playing for Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2016–2017)
In July 2016, Tokoto played for the New York Knicks in the 2016 NBA Summer League. He signed with the Knicks in August but was waived in October. On October 25, he went back to the Oklahoma City Blue. Just five days later, he was traded to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. For the 2016–17 season, he played 52 games for the Vipers. He averaged 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
Time with Perth Wildcats (2017–2018)
In July 2017, Tokoto joined the Utah Jazz for the 2017 NBA Summer League. On September 6, 2017, he signed with the Perth Wildcats in Australia for the 2017–18 NBL season. He played in all 30 games for the Wildcats that season. He averaged 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Joining Hapoel Eilat (2018–2019)
On June 27, 2018, JP Tokoto earned a spot on the Golden State Warriors' team for the 2018 NBA Summer League.
On July 28, 2018, Tokoto signed a one-year deal with the Israeli team Hapoel Eilat. On January 2, 2019, he had an amazing game. He scored a career-high 31 points, along with six rebounds and six assists. This helped Eilat win 95–89 against Hapoel Tel Aviv. He was named the Israeli League Round 12 MVP for his great performance. On April 12, 2019, Tokoto played in the 2019 Israeli League All-Star Game. He scored 19 points and was named the All-Star Game MVP.
In 38 games for Eilat, Tokoto was a leader for his team. He led in rebounds (7.6 per game) and steals (1.4 per game). He also averaged 13.4 points and 3.1 assists. Tokoto helped Eilat reach the 2019 Israeli League Final Four.
Playing for San Pablo Burgos (2019–2020)
On July 3, 2019, Tokoto signed a one-year deal with the Spanish club San Pablo Burgos. He played in 26 games for Burgos in the Liga ACB and the Basketball Champions League. He averaged 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. On January 25, 2020, Tokoto left Burgos.
Return to Israel with Ironi Ness Ziona (2020)
On January 26, 2020, Tokoto came back to Israel. He signed with Ironi Ness Ziona for the rest of the season. On February 2, 2020, he played his first game for them. He scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, even though his team lost.
Playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv (2020–2023)
On November 14, 2020, Tokoto signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv. He played for them until 2023.
Current Team: Ironi Ramat Gan (2023–Present)
Since 2023, JP Tokoto has been playing for Ironi Ramat Gan in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

About JP's Family
JP Tokoto was named after his grandfather, Jean-Pierre Tokoto. His grandfather was a famous soccer player for the Cameroon national team. He played in all three games for Cameroon in the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
JP's mother, Laurence Tokoto Trimble, met her husband, Trevor Trimble, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. JP's biological father is former NBA player Brian Oliver. JP also has a younger half-brother named Seth Trimble. Seth plays college basketball for the same school JP attended, North Carolina.
