Jean-Pierre Tokoto II (born September 15, 1993) is an American-Cameroonian professional basketball player. He plays for Ironi Ramat Gan in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Before playing professionally, he was a college basketball star at the University of North Carolina. He has also played in the NBA G League, Australia, Israel, and Spain.

High School Basketball Star
JP Tokoto was born in Rockford, Illinois. He went to Menomonee Falls High School in Wisconsin. In high school, he was an amazing player.
Setting School Records
As a junior, he scored about 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds per game. He also had over 3 steals and 2 assists per game. In his senior year, he improved even more. He averaged nearly 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Tokoto set many school records. These included the most career points, rebounds, and steals. He even scored 48 points in one game! He was named the Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year as a junior. In 2012, he won the American Family Insurance Slam Dunk contest.
College Career Highlights
Tokoto played college basketball for three years. He was part of the North Carolina Tar Heels team.
Key Player for the Tar Heels
During his junior year, he averaged 8.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. He was well-known for his incredible dunks. He was also a very strong defensive player. After his junior season, he decided to enter the 2015 NBA draft on April 8, 2015. This meant he was ready to become a professional player.

JP Tokoto has played for several teams around the world.
Starting with Oklahoma City Blue (2015–2016)
The Philadelphia 76ers picked Tokoto in the 2015 NBA draft. He was the 58th overall pick. He joined them for the 2015 NBA Summer League. He signed a contract with the 76ers in September 2015. However, he was later waived by the team.
On October 30, he joined the Delaware 87ers. This team is part of the NBA G League. The next day, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Blue. He played 49 games for the Blue in the 2015–16 season. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.
Playing for Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2016–2017)
In July 2016, Tokoto played for the New York Knicks in the 2016 NBA Summer League. He signed with the Knicks but was later waived.
He returned to the Oklahoma City Blue in October. Five days later, he was traded to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He played 52 games for the Vipers in the 2016–17 season. He averaged 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.
Time with Perth Wildcats (2017–2018)
In July 2017, Tokoto joined the Utah Jazz for the 2017 NBA Summer League. On September 6, 2017, he signed with the Perth Wildcats. This team plays in Australia's NBL.
He played in all 30 games for the Wildcats during the 2017–18 season. He averaged 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. He was recognized as an All-NBL Second Team player in 2018. He also led the NBL in steals that year.
Joining Hapoel Eilat (2018–2019)
On June 27, 2018, Tokoto played for the Golden State Warriors in the 2018 NBA Summer League.
On July 28, 2018, Tokoto signed a one-year deal with Hapoel Eilat. This is an Israeli team. On January 2, 2019, Tokoto had a career-high game. He scored 31 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had six assists. He was named the Israeli League Round 12 MVP.
All-Star Recognition
On April 12, 2019, Tokoto played in the 2019 Israeli League All-Star Game. He scored 19 points and was named the All-Star Game MVP. For Hapoel Eilat, he led the team in rebounds (7.6 per game) and steals (1.4 per game). He also averaged 13.4 points and 3.1 assists. He helped Hapoel Eilat reach the 2019 Israeli League Final Four.
Moving to San Pablo Burgos (2019–2020)
On July 3, 2019, Tokoto signed a one-year deal with the Spanish club San Pablo Burgos. He played 26 games for Burgos in the Liga ACB and the Champions League. He averaged 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. He left Burgos on January 25, 2020.
Return to Israel with Ironi Ness Ziona (2020)
On January 26, 2020, Tokoto returned to Israel. He signed with Ironi Ness Ziona for the rest of the season. On February 2, 2020, he played his first game. He scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds.
Playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv (2020–Present)
On November 14, 2020, Tokoto signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv. He continues to play in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
Personal Life and Family
JP Tokoto was named after his grandfather, Jean-Pierre Tokoto. His grandfather was a famous soccer player. He played for the Cameroon national team. He even played in the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
JP Tokoto's mother is Laurence Tokoto Trimble. His biological father is former NBA player Brian Oliver. JP also has a younger half-brother named Seth Trimble. Seth plays college basketball for the University of North Carolina, just like JP did!
