Jack Peñate (born 2 September 1984) is a talented English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is known for his unique blend of indie rock, soul, and rockabilly music.
Early Life and School Days
Jack Peñate was born in London, England, on 2 September 1984. His mother is English, and his father is Spanish. Jack's grandfather was the famous author Mervyn Peake.
He went to Alleyn's School in Dulwich. While there, he was classmates with other future music stars. These included Jessie Ware, members of the band The Maccabees, and Florence Welch.
Jack Peñate's Music Career
Jack Peñate started his music journey in 2005. He released his first album, Matinée, in 2007. Two years later, in 2009, he released his second album, Everything Is New.
After a break, Jack announced in 2015 that he was working on new songs. He released his first new music in five years in 2018. Then, in 2019, he released his third album, After You. This album came out a decade after his second one.
In June 2024, Jack Peñate played guitar for the artist Little Simz. This was at the big 2024 Glastonbury Festival.
