Jessie Ware's Music Journey

Starting Her Music Career (2009–2011)

Before releasing her own songs, Jessie Ware sang backup for other artists. She toured with Jack Peñate in the U.S. She said this experience was great training. It taught her how to perform live without the pressure of being the main singer.

Through Jack Peñate's band, she met SBTRKT and they worked together on a song called "Nervous" in 2010. She also met Sampha and they created the song "Valentine" in 2011. These collaborations helped her get a record deal with PMR Records. She also sang backup on Ceremonials, an album by her friend Florence Welch's band, Florence and the Machine.

Her first solo song, "Strangest Feeling," came out in October 2011.
