Sampha Lahai Sisay, born on November 16, 1988, is a talented singer, songwriter, and music producer from London, England. He is known for his unique voice and electronic music style. Sampha has worked with many famous artists. These include Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, and Kanye West.
He has released two shorter music collections called EPs. These were Sundanza in 2010 and Dual in 2013. Sampha's first full album, Process, came out on February 3, 2017. This album was very successful and won the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2017. His second album, Lahai, was released on October 20, 2023.

Sampha's Early Life and Music Beginnings
Sampha was born in Morden, South London. His parents came from Sierra Leone. He is the youngest of five brothers. Sampha started his musical journey by learning to play the piano at home. He also listened to many different records given to him by his older brothers.
As a teenager, Sampha became interested in making music. His older brother, Sanie, even built a small music studio at home. Sampha studied music at Ewell Castle School. In 2017, he returned to his old school to open a new music studio. He also briefly attended Chester University.
Sampha's Music Career
In 2007, Sampha met a London music producer named Kwes through a website called Myspace. Sampha felt that Kwes's music changed his life. Kwes helped Sampha and introduced him to other musicians. He also introduced Sampha to the record label that would later be called Young.
In 2009, Sampha worked as an intern at the Young label. Through this label, he also remixed a song by The xx. He met other artists like SBTRKT and Jessie Ware. Sampha is also related to a grime music artist named Flirta D.
In 2017, Sampha released his first album, Process. Music critics loved the album. It won the Mercury Prize for the best album of the year. He released his second album, Lahai, in 2023. This album also received great reviews.
