Jack Peñate was born in London, England. His mother is English, and his father is Spanish. His grandfather was a famous writer named Mervyn Peake. Jack went to Alleyn's School in London. He went to school with other musicians who became famous. These included Jessie Ware, members of The Maccabees, and Florence Welch.
Jack's Music Career
Jack Peñate started his music journey in 2005. He released his first album, Matinée, in 2007. His second album, Everything Is New, came out in 2009. After a break, he released new music in 2018. His third album, After You, was released in 2019.
Working with Sault
Since 2021, Jack has worked a lot with a music group called Sault. He has collaborated with them on several albums. In May 2023, one of these albums, 11, won a big award. It received the Ivor Novello Award for "Best Album." Jack shared this award with producer Inflo and vocalists Cleo Sol and Chronixx.
