Jacqueline West (born December 29, 1979) is an American writer who creates exciting children's fiction books and beautiful poems. Her poetry has been recognized with nominations for the Pushcart Prize. She is also famous for her Books of Elsewhere fantasy series, which even made it onto the New York Times Best Seller list!

Early Life and School Days
Jacqueline West was born on December 29, 1979, in Red Wing, Minnesota. She grew up in River Falls, Wisconsin, where she finished high school in 1998. She went on to earn a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Jacqueline also studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Edgewood College. Today, she lives in Red Wing, Minnesota.

Jacqueline West is well-known for her The Books of Elsewhere series. These are children's literature books published by Dial Books for Young Readers. This publisher is part of Penguin Group USA.
Poetry and Other Works
Besides writing fiction, Jacqueline West also publishes poetry. Her poetry collection, called Cherma, came out in 2010. It was published by the University of Wisconsin's Parallel Press. This book is about Czech immigrants who moved to western Minnesota.
