Jadwiga Katarzyna Emilewicz, born on August 27, 1974, is a Polish politician. She has held important roles in the Polish government. In 2020, she served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland. Before that, in 2019, she became the Minister of Development. From 2018 to 2019, she was the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology. She worked in the government led by Mateusz Morawiecki.

About Jadwiga Emilewicz
Jadwiga Emilewicz was born in Kraków, Poland, in 1974. Her parents are Antoni and Zdzisława Szyler. She studied at Jagiellonian University.
Her Journey in Government
Jadwiga Emilewicz began her work in the government on November 27, 2015. She was appointed as an undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Development. This role meant she helped the main minister with their duties. She held this position until 2018.
In 2018, she became the head of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology. This ministry helps businesses and new technologies grow in Poland. She worked in the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Becoming a Minister
In 2019, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology was reorganized. It became part of the Ministry of Development. Jadwiga Emilewicz continued her work as the Minister of Development. This meant she was a key part of Prime Minister Morawiecki's second government.
Around 2017, she also helped start a political party called Agreement. She quickly became a Vice Leader of this party.
Deputy Prime Minister Role
In 2020, Jadwiga Emilewicz took on an even bigger role. She was sworn in as the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland. This is a very important position, second only to the Prime Minister. She also continued to be the Minister of Development at the same time. This happened after Jarosław Gowin stepped down from the Deputy Prime Minister role. Her party, Agreement, suggested her as the new Deputy Prime Minister.
