Jaime Alberto Rodríguez Jiménez (born January 17, 1959) is a famous former football player from El Salvador. He was known for his great skills on the field. Jaime played as a defender, helping his team stop opponents from scoring.
He even represented his country in the biggest football tournament, the 1982 FIFA World Cup, held in Spain.

Club Teams and Achievements
From a young age, Jaime Rodríguez showed amazing talent in football. He started his career with teams like C.D. Juventud Olímpica Metalio and Alianza. He quickly became a very important player, almost a legend in El Salvador.
Jaime was a defender, meaning his main job was to protect his team's goal. He played for many different clubs in various countries. These included:

Playing for His Country
Jaime Rodríguez was nicknamed La Chelona. He proudly played for the national team. He took part in fifteen FIFA World Cup qualification matches, helping his country try to reach the World Cup.
He also played in all three of El Salvador's matches at the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. His last game for his country was in April 1991. It was a qualification match for the 1991 UNCAF Nations Cup against Nicaragua.
Life After Playing: Coaching and Leadership
After he stopped playing football, Jaime Rodríguez started a new career as a coach. He coached Alianza for a while.
Since then, he has worked hard to make football better in El Salvador. He believes in improving how football is organized and run. He also supports giving financial help to past Salvadoran sports heroes who might need it.
Since 2009, Jaime has been the President of the Salvadoran Institute of Sport (INDES). In 2007, he also became an assistant coach for the national team, known as the Cuscatlecos.
Jaime has also used his fame to help others. He played in a charity match to raise money for people affected by earthquakes in El Salvador. In 2012, he was chosen to be a member of the football commission for FIFA, the world's main football organization.
