Jamaine Jones is a former professional Aussie Rules footballer. He played for two teams in the Australian Football League (AFL). These teams were the Geelong Cats and the West Coast Eagles.
Jamaine made his AFL debut in 2018. It was in Round 10 against the Carlton Blues. He played at Kardinia Park and kicked a goal with his very first kick!

Early Life and Junior Football
Jamaine Jones was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales. He grew up in a group home in Mildura. Jamaine is an Indigenous Australian and belongs to the Barkindji people.
Moving to Geelong
When Jamaine was 10, he was adopted by Sue Lovett. He then moved to Geelong, Victoria. There, he started playing football for a local club in Belmont.
Playing for Heywood
Later, Jamaine moved to Heywood. At 16, he helped his local club win a championship in 2015. He also studied at Heywood District Secondary College.
North Ballarat Rebels
After school, Jamaine played for the North Ballarat Rebels. This was a team in the TAC Cup, a competition for young players. At first, he didn't take football seriously. A talent manager told him he might not make it. But this made Jamaine work even harder.
AFL Career
Jamaine's talent was noticed by a Geelong scout. This happened after he played a great game for the Hampden League.
Drafted by Geelong
Geelong picked Jamaine in the 2017 AFL rookie draft. He was their last pick, number 48. The coach, Chris Scott, called it a "speculative" pick. This meant they weren't sure how he would turn out.
Playing for Geelong
Jamaine played well in practice games before the 2018 season. He also showed strong form in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Because of this, he was chosen to play for Geelong's main team. He played 7 games and kicked 4 goals for Geelong.
Moving to West Coast
After the 2019 season, Geelong decided not to keep Jamaine. But in March 2020, the West Coast Eagles signed him. He joined them during a special signing period.
Playing for West Coast
Jamaine played for the West Coast Eagles for five seasons. He played 59 games and kicked 19 goals for the club. At the end of the 2024 AFL season, he was delisted by West Coast. In total, he played 66 AFL games and kicked 23 goals.
