Dato' Jamal Ubaidillah bin Haji Mohd Ali (born on 7 May 1959) is a famous Malaysian singer and actor. He is known by his stage name Jamal Abdillah. He is sometimes called the "King of Pop Malaysia".
Jamal started his singing journey in 1973. He won the Bintang RTM competition in 1979. This was a big singing contest by Radio Televisyen Malaysia. After winning, he kept singing and also started acting in movies. One of his early films was 'Azura'.
Jamal is the oldest of seven brothers and sisters. He has seven children. His sons are Osama Yamani (also known as Yamani Abdillah), Ahmad Zaki Yamani, El Isaac Yamani, and Iskandar Rayyan Yamani. His daughters are Nur Azura Yamani, Rahil Laura Salsabila Yamani, and Magdalena Yamani.
He comes from the Banjar community. Jamal has performed in many countries. These include Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. He often holds charity concerts in Singapore each year.
