Jameon Kalchevis Lewis (born November 26, 1991) is a former American football player. He was a wide receiver, which is a player who catches passes from the quarterback. Jameon played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Early Life and High School Football

Jameon Lewis grew up in Tylertown, Mississippi. He went to Tylertown High School. There, he was the starting quarterback for his team. He helped lead them to the Mississippi 3A State Championship.

During his sophomore to senior years, Jameon's team only lost four games. He led his team to the State Championship game two years in a row. In his final year, they won the championship!

Experts thought Jameon was a very good player. 247sports.com and Rivals.com rated him as a three-star recruit. This means he was considered one of the top high school players. He was also listed as one of the top 24 prospects in Mississippi.

College Football Career

Jameon Lewis played college football at Mississippi State University. He was a very important player for the Bulldogs.

Starting Out: Freshman and Sophomore Years

Jameon didn't play in his first year, 2010. This is called "redshirting." It helps players get ready for college-level sports. In his first game in 2011, he caught four passes for 113 yards. This was a great start!

He caught a few more passes in the rest of the 2011 season. In 2012, he played in all 13 games. He caught 10 passes that year.

Breakout Season: Junior Year (2013)

The 2013 season was a huge year for Jameon. He showed how versatile he was. In one game against Troy, he scored a touchdown by passing, running, and catching the ball!

He had his first game with over 100 receiving yards against LSU. He also threw touchdown passes in games against Kentucky and Texas A&M. Against Kentucky, he again scored touchdowns by throwing, catching, and running.

In the 2013 Liberty Bowl game, Jameon set a new school record. He had 220 receiving yards in that single game! For the whole season, he had 923 receiving yards. This was the fourth-highest total for a receiver in Mississippi State history.

Senior Year (2014)

In 2014, Jameon threw his fourth career touchdown pass. This happened in a game against South Alabama. He missed some games that season because of a leg injury.

Even with the injury, he still caught enough passes to be among the top players in school history. At the time, he ranked 8th in career receptions and 10th in career receiving yards for the Bulldogs.

Professional Football Career

After college, Jameon Lewis tried to play professional football.

Canadian Football League

In October 2016, Jameon joined the practice squad for the Toronto Argonauts. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed again by the team in December. However, the team made many changes the next year. Jameon was released after a mini-camp.

Arena Football League

On March 22, 2018, Jameon was assigned to the Albany Empire. This team plays in the Arena Football League (AFL). He was released from the team a short time later, on April 7, 2018.
