James Edgar Collins (born November 5, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a Shooting guard. His last team was Indesit Fabriano in Italy. This was during the 2006–07 season.

Playing Career Highlights
James Collins started his basketball journey in Jacksonville, Florida. He went to Andrew Jackson High School. After high school, he played college basketball. He attended Florida State University from 1993 to 1997.
NBA Draft and Early Teams
In 1997, James Collins was chosen in the 1997 NBA draft. The Philadelphia 76ers picked him as the 36th player overall. He played one season in the NBA. This was for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 1997–98 season.
He was also briefly signed by other NBA teams. These included the Phoenix Suns in 1999. He also signed with the Washington Wizards in 1999. Later, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001. However, he did not play in any NBA games for these teams.
Playing in Other Leagues
After his time in the NBA, Collins played in other professional leagues. He played for the Grand Rapids Hoops. This team was part of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played there from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, he was recognized as one of the best players. He earned All-CBA First Team honors that year.

After his professional playing career, James Collins continued to be involved in basketball. He is now a basketball coach. Currently, he is the Head Boys Basketball Coach. He coaches at his old high school, Andrew Jackson High School. This school is in Jacksonville, Florida.
