James H. Floyd State Park is a fun place to visit in Georgia. It's a big park, about 561 acres, which is like 425 football fields! You can find it near the town of Summerville, right at the bottom of Taylor Ridge (Georgia).

The park is named after a special person, James H. "Sloppy" Floyd. He was a public servant who worked for the people of Georgia. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1953 to 1974.

This park is surrounded by quiet countryside and the huge Chattahoochee National Forest. It's a great spot for outdoor adventures!

What to Do at the Park

James H. Floyd State Park has lots of cool things to do. You can go camping, explore nature on hiking trails, or try your luck at fishing.

The park also has two pretty lakes. Together, these lakes cover about 51 acres. That's a lot of water for fishing or just enjoying the view! There's also a fun playground for kids to enjoy.

If you love long walks, the famous Pinhoti Trail runs right through the park. It's a great way to see more of Georgia's beautiful nature.
