About James Weaver
James Weaver was born a long time ago, on October 17, 1800, in Kent, England. When he was about 30 years old, in 1830, he moved to the United States. He first lived in Oneida County, New York. Later, he moved to Lisbon, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, which became his home.
In 1820, James Weaver married Elizabeth Fielder. They had several children together. Two of their sons also became politicians, just like their father! These sons were Thomas Weaver and Richard Weaver. Thomas served in the Assembly, and Richard served in both the Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate. James Weaver lived a long life and passed away on October 8, 1886.

In 1856, James Weaver became a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. This means he was elected by people in his area to help make laws for the state of Wisconsin.
