James the Cat is a fun British children's TV show. It first aired in 1984. Kate Canning created the series. Jan Clayton produced it with Grampian Television. The show tells the many stories of James the Cat. He lives at the Cornerhouse (number 104). There, he meets many animal friends.
His friends include Mrs. Lavender, a snail. There is also Frieda, a kangaroo. Citroen is a French frog. Rocky is a friendly but sometimes silly rabbit. And don't forget Dennis, a pink Chinese dragon who can breathe fire! A beehive is also in the garden. Next door live Ma and Pa Rat with their children.
About the Show
This show had two different parts, or "series." In the first series, James is new to the Cornerhouse garden. He learns how to live with all the other animals. They have many everyday adventures together.
In the second series, things get exciting! James becomes a special "diplomat." This means he travels to different countries. He also meets important visitors from far away. So, James and his friends go on big trips and learn about new places. The show was brought back in 1998 for a TV block called Milkshake!.
