Jason "Jay" Santos is a well-known chef and restaurant owner based in Boston. He became famous as a runner-up on Hell's Kitchen season 7. He has also appeared on the TV show Bar Rescue many times.
Since January 2021, Jason has been a Gordon Ramsay's sous-chef (a head assistant chef) on Hell's Kitchen for seasons 19, 20, 21, and 22. When he first appeared on Hell's Kitchen, he was known as Jay, but now he uses Jason.
Jason Santos and his restaurants, especially Buttermilk & Bourbon, are famous for their delicious food inspired by New Orleans.

Chef Jason Santos's Career
Jason Santos has owned and been the main chef at several restaurants in Boston. These include Abby Lane, Citrus & Salt, and Buttermilk & Bourbon. He also opened B&B Fish in Marblehead, Massachusetts in November 2020, which is now closed.
In August 2021, Jason and his business partners opened another Buttermilk & Bourbon location in Watertown, Massachusetts. His earlier restaurant, Blue Inc., closed in September 2014.
Early Cooking Days
Early in his career, Jason worked for six years at a restaurant called Tremont 647. After that, in 2005, he became the main chef at Gargoyles on the Square. He was known for his new and exciting cooking style. People described his food as a mix of classic cooking and fun, creative ideas.
Jason has also taught cooking classes. He taught at Boston University and Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.

Jason Santos has written two cookbooks.
- Buttermilk & Bourbon: New Orleans Recipes with a Modern Flair was released in March 2019. This book shares recipes inspired by New Orleans.
- Simple Fancy: A Chef's Big-Flavor Recipes for Easy Weeknight Cooking came out in December 2022. This cookbook helps people cook tasty meals at home easily.
Jason Santos's Personal Life
Jason Santos is married to Thuy Le. They have a daughter who was born in August 2022.
When he was on Hell's Kitchen season 7, Jason lived in Medford, Massachusetts. He worked as a chef at Gargoyles on the Square in Somerville, Massachusetts. After the show, he went back to working at Gargoyles.
Jason Santos is a graduate of Newbury College. In 2021, it was shared that Jason and his wife lived in Woburn, Massachusetts.
