Jaume March II facts for kids
Jaume March (born around 1334 or 1335, died in 1410) was an important Valencian language poet. He came from a family of writers and thinkers.
Jaume was the brother of Pere March and the uncle of Arnau March and the very famous poet Ausiàs March. His family were lawyers and worked for the king of Aragon. Jaume was born in Valencia. He was likely the oldest son and took over the family's lands near Barcelona.
King Peter the Ceremonious made Jaume a knight. This was a special honor. In 1393, King John asked Jaume to lead a special group called the Consistory of Barcelona. This group was like a school or club for poets. They helped encourage new poetry.
