Jaume Sisa, born in 1948 in El Poble-sec, Barcelona, is a famous Catalan singer and songwriter. He likes to call himself 'Galactic'. His most popular song is Qualsevol nit pot sortir el sol (which means 'Any night the sun can come out'), from his album released in 1975. Other well-known songs that many people remember in the Catalan-speaking areas include Nit de Sant Joan, El setè cel, and L'home dibuixat.
Jaume Sisa was a very important figure in the underground music scene in Catalonia during the 1970s and 1980s. He was known alongside other artists like Pau Riba and Gato Pérez. Throughout his career, he explored many different music styles. These included progressive music, rock, folk, musical songs, copla, and bolero. He inspired many Catalan musicians who came after him.
He was part of the Grup de Folk music group, and also played with Música Dispersa and Orquestra Plateria. He also worked closely with the Dagoll Dagom theater company. Even though he wrote most of his songs in Catalan, he lived in Madrid for 10 years. During this time, he used a different name, Ricardo Solfa, and released four albums in Spanish.
