Phalon Anton Alexander, known professionally as Jazze Pha (pronounced JAZ-ee FAY), is an American music producer, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He started his own record label, Sho'nuff Records, in 1995. Through this label, he signed the famous R&B singer Ciara in 2003. He helped produce her hit song "1, 2 Step" in 2004. This song became very popular, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. He also worked as the main producer for Ciara's album, Goodies (2004). This album was a big success with both critics and fans. Ciara later left Sho'nuff Records.
Jazze Pha continued to create many successful songs in the years that followed. He produced several songs that made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. These include "Get Up" for Ciara and "So What" for Field Mob. He also produced top 20 hits like "Let's Get Down" for Bow Wow and "Let's Get Away" for T.I.. Other popular songs he worked on include "Just Fine" for Mary J. Blige, "Area Codes" for Ludacris, and "Do That..." for Birdman. Jazze Pha is also known for his unique way of introducing songs. He often says "Ladies and gentlemen" or "This is a Jazze Phizzle product-shizzle!" at the beginning of songs he produced. Besides Ciara, his Sho'nuff label has also signed music groups like Ayo & Teo and Cherish. As a singer himself, he signed with Elektra Records and released his first album in 1990.

Jazze Pha's Early Life and Family
Jazze Pha was born and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. His father is James Alexander. James Alexander was the bass player for the Bar-Kays. This group was very important in the Memphis soul music scene in the 1960s. Jazze Pha's mother, Denise Williams, is also a talented singer. She has worked with many famous artists, including Earth, Wind & Fire and Barbra Streisand. Jazze Pha was named after Phalon Jones. Phalon Jones was another member of the Bar-Kays who sadly died in a plane crash in 1967.
