Phalon Anton Alexander, known professionally as Jazze Pha, is an American record producer, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is famous for creating hit songs for many artists. In 1995, he started his own record label called Sho'nuff Records.
One of his biggest successes was signing R&B singer Ciara in 2003. He produced her popular song "1, 2 Step" in 2004, which became a huge hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also helped create Ciara's album Goodies, which was very successful.

Jazze Pha's Music Career
Jazze Pha has produced many other popular songs that made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart. These include "Get Up" for Ciara and "So What" for Field Mob. He also produced top 20 hits like "Let's Get Down" for Bow Wow, "Let's Get Away" for T.I., and "Just Fine" for Mary J. Blige.
Jazze Pha is also known for being a "hype man" in many of the songs he produces. This means he often adds his voice to the beginning or end of a song, sometimes just saying a phrase to get listeners excited. Besides Ciara, his Sho'nuff label has also signed music groups like Ayo & Teo and Cherish. As a singer himself, he signed with Elektra Records and released his first album in 1990.
Early Life and Family
Jazze Pha was born and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. However, he spent most of his time in Atlanta, Georgia. His father is James Alexander, who was the bass player for the Bar-Kays. The Bar-Kays were a very important music group in Memphis in the 1960s, known for their soul music.
Jazze Pha's mother, Deniece Williams, is also a talented singer. She has worked with famous groups like Earth, Wind, and Fire and singers like Barbra Streisand. Jazze Pha was named after Phalon Jones, who was another member of the Bar-Kays. Sadly, Phalon Jones died in a plane crash in 1967, which also took the lives of three other Bar-Kays members and the famous singer Otis Redding.
His Unique Sound
Jazze Pha is easily recognized by his special way of starting songs. He often says "Ladies and gentlemen" or "This is a Jazze Phizzle product-shizzle!" at the beginning of songs he produced. Sometimes, he even adds these phrases at the end. These unique sayings have become his signature sound in the music world.
