Jean-Baptiste Maunier (born December 22, 1990) is a talented French actor and singer. He became famous for his main role in the 2004 French movie Les Choristes. In this film, he showed off his amazing singing voice.

Early Life and Education
Jean-Baptiste Maunier was born in France. His dad, Thierry Maunier, was a cameraman. His mom is Muriel Maunier. Jean-Baptiste has a younger brother named Benjamin. His father used to sing in a famous church choir.
Jean-Baptiste went to a Catholic school in Lyon, France. Later, he wanted to improve his acting and English skills. So, he studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York from 2008 to 2009. After that, he came back to France.

Acting Roles
Jean-Baptiste Maunier became very well-known in 2004. This was because of his starring role in the French movie Les Choristes. In the film, he played a character named Pierre Morhange. Pierre was a troubled student with an incredible singing voice. The movie's director, Christophe Barratier, chose Jean-Baptiste. He said Jean-Baptiste "had the right look" and a wonderful voice.
After the movie came out, Jean-Baptiste and the choir from the film performed concerts. They traveled all over the world, including Japan and Canada. In February 2005, he left the choir. He wanted to focus more on his schoolwork and acting.
In 2005, he also appeared in a TV mini-series called Le Cri. He played a young steelworker. This series was released in 2006.

Jean-Baptiste continued acting in many films. In 2006, he was in Le Grand Meaulnes as Francois Seurel. He also lent his voice to the character "Saxo" in the animated movie Piccolo, Saxo et compagnie.
In the summer of 2006, Jean-Baptiste filmed Hellphone. This movie was directed by James Huth. Jean-Baptiste played the role of Sid. The film was released in March 2007.
He also starred as Octave in L'Auberge rouge. This movie was directed by Gérard Krawczyk. It came out in French theaters in December 2007.
After studying in New York, he returned to France in 2010. He performed in the Les Enfoirés charity concert that year.
Singing Career
When Jean-Baptiste started middle school, he chose singing as an activity. He joined a choir called Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc. His singing teacher there was Nicolas Porte. In Les Choristes, both Jean-Baptiste's solo parts and the choir's songs were featured. This helped him become famous for his singing.
In 2005, Jean-Baptiste recorded a song with Clemence Saint-Preux. It was called Concerto pour deux voix. He wanted to record his voice before it changed as he grew older.
Since 2005, he has been part of Les Enfoirés. This is a group of famous French singers and performers. They hold charity concerts to raise money for good causes. He also released a song called "Le Monde Qui Est Le Mien" for the album "We Love Disney 2". He also released a single called "Je Reviens".
