Jean-Yves Leroux (born June 24, 1976) is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He played as a forward and was known for his time with the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1997 and 2001.
Growing Up and Playing Hockey
Jean-Yves Leroux was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. When he was a young hockey player, he took part in the famous Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in both 1989 and 1990. This tournament is a big deal for young hockey players from all over the world!
Jean-Yves Leroux's Hockey Journey
Jean-Yves Leroux began his professional hockey career in the National Hockey League (NHL) during the 1996–97 NHL season. He played for the Chicago Blackhawks, which was the only NHL team he ever played for. He stayed with the Blackhawks until the 2000–01 NHL season.
During his time in the NHL, Leroux played in 220 games. He scored 16 goals and made 22 assists, adding up to 38 points. He also spent 146 minutes in the penalty box. After leaving the NHL, he continued to play in other professional leagues until 2010.
