Jeanette Shakalli's Education
Jeanette Shakalli studied at the University of Notre Dame. There, she earned a special degree in both Mathematics and Chemistry. Later, in 2012, she received her Ph.D. in Mathematics. She earned this advanced degree from Texas A&M University. Her advisor, who guided her studies, was Sarah J. Witherspoon.
Her Career in Mathematics
From 2012 to 2019, Jeanette Shakalli worked for a group in Panama. This group was called the National Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SENACYT). In 2016, she started a special program. This program was all about sharing the fun of math in Panama.

Jeanette Shakalli has received several honors for her hard work. In 2007, she won the Senior GE Prize for Mathematics Majors. This award is given to a top math student at the University of Notre Dame. The Rotary Club of Panama also recognized her. They named her Rotarian of the Year for 2018-2019.
