Jeanne Beijerman-Walraven facts for kids
Jeanne Beijerman-Walraven (born June 14, 1878 – died September 20, 1969) was a talented Dutch composer. She was born in Semarang, Indonesia. Later, she studied music privately with a teacher named Frits Koeberg in The Hague, a city in the Netherlands.
Her early music sounded like late Romantic pieces, which were often grand and emotional. But as time went on, she started using newer styles. Her later music became more Expressionist, which means it focused on showing strong feelings and ideas. Even though people recognized her talent early on, her music was not played very often after the 1920s. She passed away in Arnhem, Netherlands.
