Jeffrey James DeWit (born December 21, 1972) is an American businessman and politician. He was the leader of the Arizona Republican Party from 2023 to 2024. As a member of the Republican Party, DeWit became the State Treasurer of Arizona in 2015. He later served as the chief financial officer for NASA, the U.S. space agency.

Early Life and Education
Jeff DeWit studied business and finance at the University of Southern California. He started his career in 1992. In 1999, DeWit began his own stock trading company called ECHOtrade. He was the CEO of this company for more than 14 years.
Political Career Highlights

DeWit has been involved in politics for many years. He served in different roles within the Arizona Republican Party. In 2014, he decided to run for the office of Treasurer for the state of Arizona. This job was open because Doug Ducey was running for Governor.
DeWit won the Republican primary election in August 2014. He beat two other candidates by a large number of votes. Since no one ran against him in the main election, he became the Treasurer of Arizona.
DeWit also led Donald Trump's presidential campaign in Arizona in 2016. He said then that he did not plan to run for Treasurer again. He mentioned he didn't like how some politicians seemed to do favors for each other.
In 2017, President Trump chose DeWit to be the Chief Financial Officer of NASA. This means he would manage the money for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The U.S. Senate approved his nomination in March 2018. He started his job at NASA on April 3, 2018. DeWit left NASA in February 2020. Later that year, he joined Trump's 2020 presidential campaign as its chief operating officer.

On January 28, 2023, Jeff DeWit was chosen to be the leader of the Arizona Republican Party. This is a very important role in state politics.
Recent Events and Resignation
On January 23, 2024, a recording of a conversation involving DeWit was shared publicly. The conversation was with Kari Lake, a well-known political figure in Arizona. After this recording became public, Lake said that DeWit should step down from his role as party leader.
DeWit resigned from his position on January 24, 2024. He stated that he was pressured to leave.
Personal Life
Jeff DeWit lives in Peoria, Arizona. He is married to Marina, and they have three daughters. During one of his election campaigns, his family even made a fun music video. It was a parody of the movie Frozen.
