Jeffrey James DeWit (born December 21, 1972) is an American businessman and politician. He was the leader of the Arizona Republican Party from January 2023 to January 2024. As a member of the Republican Party, DeWit became the State Treasurer of Arizona in 2015. He also served as the chief financial officer for NASA, the U.S. space agency.

Early Life and Education
Jeff DeWit studied business and finance at the University of Southern California. He started his career in 1992 at a company called Smith Barney Shearson. In 1999, DeWit created his own company, ECHOtrade. This company focused on stock trading, and he was its CEO for over 14 years.
Political Career

In politics, Jeff DeWit has held several roles. He was a Precinct Committeeman and a State Committeeman. He also served on the Redistricting Committee for the Arizona Republican Party. This committee helps decide how voting districts are drawn.
In 2014, he ran for the position of Treasurer for the state of Arizona. The previous treasurer, Doug Ducey, was running for Governor. DeWit won the Republican primary election in August. He then ran unopposed in the general election, becoming the State Treasurer of Arizona.
DeWit also led Donald Trump's presidential campaign in Arizona in 2016. He later said he did not plan to run for re-election as State Treasurer. He mentioned he disliked the way some established politicians operated.
On December 1, 2017, President Trump nominated DeWit to be the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of NASA. The U.S. Senate confirmed his nomination in March 2018. He started his role at NASA on April 3, 2018. DeWit left his position at NASA in February 2020. Later that year, he joined Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign as its chief operating officer.
Leading the State Party
On January 28, 2023, Jeff DeWit was chosen to be the chair of the Arizona Republican Party. This meant he was the main leader of the Republican Party in Arizona.
Recent Events
On January 23, 2024, a recording of a conversation involving DeWit was shared publicly. The conversation was with Kari Lake, who was a candidate for governor in 2022 and for the U.S. Senate in 2024. In the recording, DeWit discussed job opportunities with Lake. Lake stated she could not be influenced by such offers.
After the recording became public, Kari Lake asked DeWit to resign from his position. DeWit resigned on January 24, 2024. He stated that Lake's team had threatened to release another recording if he did not step down. Lake's advisors denied making any threats.
Personal Life
Jeff DeWit lives in Peoria, Arizona, with his wife, Marina. They have three daughters. During his election campaign, his family appeared in a fun music video. It was a parody of the movie Frozen.
