Jeffery Wood started his acting journey with commercials. He also had small roles in different TV shows. In 1994, he joined the cast of a famous musical called Carousel. This show won a special award called a Tony Award.
After performing in Carousel for a year, Jeffery got his first big TV role. He played Austin Warren in the sitcom In the House. This show was on NBC. He also appeared in other popular TV series. These included New York Undercover, The Parent 'Hood, and Strong Medicine. From 1997 to 1999, he had a regular role as Jimmy Harrison on the NBC soap opera Sunset Beach.

When he was a teenager, Jeffery Wood also explored a music career. He went by the name J-Dub. He released a popular mixtape called The Captain in 2012. His last album, Insomnia, came out in 2013.
