Early Life and Adoption
Jena Lee was born in Chile. When she was just nine months old, a French family adopted her. She grew up in a town called Oloron-Sainte-Marie in France.
Jena Lee's Music Journey
Starting Out: Popstars and Urban Music Nation (2007–2009)
In 2007, Jena Lee met a music producer named Sulee B Wax. He was impressed by her work. When the TV show Popstars began its fourth season, he asked Jena to help write music for it.
Jena Lee wrote six songs for singer Sheryfa Luna's album. One of these popular songs was "Quelque part." After this, other artists asked her to write for them too. She wrote "Comme avant" for Mathieu Edward. She also composed music for a theater show called Cléopâtre.
In 2008, Jena Lee won a music competition called Urban Music Nation. This contest was organized by the radio station Skyrock. The final competition took place on December 26, 2008.
First Songs and Albums (2009-2010)
Jena Lee's first song, "J'aimerais tellement" (which means "I Would Really Love"), came out in April 2009. A music video was released with it. This song became very popular. It was number one on the French singles charts for eleven weeks. It was also the most downloaded song in November 2009.
Her first album, Vous remercier ("To Thank You"), was made with a producer named Bustafunk. It was released online on November 2, 2009. It then came out in stores on November 9, 2009. The album was released by Mercury Records, which is part of Universal Music France.
In 2010, Jena Lee released her second album, Ma référence. This album included songs like "US Boy" and "Éternise-moi." "Éternise-moi" was a duet with the French music group Eskemo. Another song on the album was "Mon ange" ("My angel").
