Jennifer Frances Hedger is a well-known Canadian television personality. She was born on September 18, 1975, in London, Ontario. Jennifer is best known as a co-host for SportsCentre, a popular nightly sports news show on TSN.

Jennifer Hedger's Career in Broadcasting
Starting Out in Television
Jennifer Hedger began her journey in television in London, Ontario. She worked for Rogers Television. There, she regularly helped with a show called Plugged In!. She also hosted OHL Primetime during the 1998-99 OHL hockey season. These early experiences helped her learn about being on TV.
Reality TV and Moving to TSN
In 2001, Jennifer was chosen for a Canadian reality show called U8TV: The Lofters. On this show, eight strangers lived together in a Toronto loft. They also created and hosted their own online television shows. After her year on the show, she appeared on TSN's talk show Off the Record with Michael Landsberg. She then officially joined TSN in 2002. She became a co-anchor for SportsCentre broadcasts late at night.
Current Role at SportsCentre
Today, Jennifer Hedger is a main co-host for the 10 p.m. ET edition of SportsCentre. For many years, her regular co-host was Darren Dutchyshen. Sadly, Darren passed away in 2024. Jennifer continues to bring sports news and highlights to viewers across Canada.
Hosting Major Sports Events
Besides her work on SportsCentre, Jennifer has also hosted big sports events. She co-hosted Olympic Daytime on CTV during the London 2012 Olympic Games. For this, she worked alongside James Duthie. She was also the Whistler Host for Olympic Prime Time on CTV during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This shows her important role in covering major sporting events.
Guest Appearances on TV Shows
Jennifer has even made small appearances on other TV shows. She had a cameo role in the first episode of the TV series Whistler. She also appeared in an episode of Corner Gas. Both of these shows aired on the CTV.
Time Away from TSN
Jennifer took a break from TSN for maternity leave. This was from March 2011 to January 2012. During this time, Kate Beirness filled in for her, working with Darren Dutchyshen.
