Jeremy Gara (born June 6, 1978) is a talented Canadian drummer from Ottawa, Ontario. He is best known as the drummer for the famous indie rock band Arcade Fire. Jeremy is also involved in many other music projects, including making his own solo music.
Jeremy Gara's Musical Journey
Jeremy Gara is currently a member of the popular indie rock band Arcade Fire. Before joining Arcade Fire, he played in several other bands. These included Kepler, known for its slowcore music, and Weights and Measures, a math rock band. He also often worked with musician Michael Feuerstack.
Jeremy also played on the album Arizona Amp and Alternator. This was a project by the musician Howe Gelb. Big companies like Istanbul Agop Cymbals and C&C Custom Drum Company support Jeremy. He has also been part of bands like Clark and Snailhouse. In Snailhouse, he played with Sarah Neufeld, who is also in Arcade Fire. He was also in The New International Standards with other Arcade Fire members, Richard Reed Parry and Tim Kingsbury.
When Arcade Fire performs live, Jeremy often switches instruments with other band members. Sometimes he plays an extra guitar on certain songs. He also played drums on Owen Pallett's album Heartland. Owen Pallett used to be a member of Arcade Fire.
Solo Music and Other Projects
On January 14, 2016, Jeremy Gara announced his first solo album. It was called Limn and came out on March 11, 2016. This album is mostly made up of music he created on the spot. Jeremy also created the artwork for the album himself. Music critics have said his solo work fits well with the electronic music scene in Montreal.
Jeremy has also sometimes played drums on the TV show Late Night with Seth Meyers.
