Jermaine Maurice Jackson Sr. (born June 7, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for several teams in the NBA and also in Europe. After his playing career, he became a basketball coach.

Growing Up and College Basketball
Jermaine Jackson grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He finished high school at Finney High School in 1995. After high school, he went to the University of Detroit Mercy. He played basketball for the Detroit Titans men's basketball team for four years. He was considered one of the best players in his college conference during his time there.
Jermaine Jackson's Professional Basketball Career
Playing in the NBA
After college in 1999, Jermaine Jackson was not chosen in the NBA draft. This means no NBA team picked him right away. However, he still started his professional career with the Detroit Pistons in 1999. He later played for other NBA teams like the Toronto Raptors (2002–03), Atlanta Hawks (2003), and New York Knicks (2005).
In 2005, the Knicks traded Jackson to the Chicago Bulls. But the Bulls decided to let him go soon after. Later that year, he joined the Milwaukee Bucks and played for them during the 2005–06 season. He also signed with the Seattle SuperSonics for a short time in 2007.
Playing Overseas and Winning Cups
Besides the NBA, Jermaine Jackson played basketball in many other leagues. He played in the CBA in the United States. He also played for many teams in Europe.
One of his big achievements was winning the Italian Cup in 2004 with a team called Benetton Treviso. This is a major championship in Italy. In 2011, he signed with Maccabi Haifa B.C. in Israel. While playing there, he was chosen to be an All-Star in the Israeli Basketball Super League in 2012.
Jermaine Jackson's Coaching Career
Starting a Community Center and Coaching High School
After he stopped playing basketball in 2012, Jermaine Jackson returned to Michigan. He opened the Jermaine Jackson-Cairns Community Center in Mount Clemens. This center helps the community and also has the Jermaine Jackson Academy, which teaches young people how to play basketball. In the same year, he became the boys' basketball coach at Mount Clemens High School.
Coaching College and Prep School
In 2015, Jackson became an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Detroit Mercy, his old college. He even became the temporary head coach for a short time.
In 2018, Jackson became the head basketball coach at SPIRE Institute, a special prep school in Ohio. During his time there, he coached a famous young player named LaMelo Ball. LaMelo later became a professional player. Jackson was even named Coach of the Year for The Grind Session, which is a league for prep school teams.
More recently, Jermaine Jackson has become LaMelo Ball's manager, helping him with his career.
Jermaine Jackson's Family Life
Jermaine Jackson has family members who also play basketball. His cousin, Brandon Jenkins, is a professional basketball player in Switzerland. Jermaine's son, Jermaine Jr., also plays basketball. He plans to play at the University of Detroit Mercy, just like his father did.
