Jerry Doyle (July 16, 1956 – July 27, 2016) was an American talk radio host and television actor. He was also the founder of a content platform called EpicTimes. Many people knew him from his radio show, The Jerry Doyle Show, which was heard across the United States. As an actor, Jerry Doyle was most famous for playing security chief Michael Garibaldi in the science fiction show Babylon 5.

Early Life and Education
Jerry Doyle was born in Brooklyn, New York. He went to Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta, New Jersey. While there, he played both football and basketball.
In 1978, Jerry earned a special degree in Aeronautics. He got this degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. During his time there, he also learned how to fly planes.
Career in Television and Radio
Before becoming an actor, Jerry Doyle had a few different jobs. He worked as a pilot for corporate jets. After that, he spent ten years working as a stockbroker on Wall Street.
In 1991, Jerry decided to change his career completely. He moved to Los Angeles to try acting. His first TV role was on the show Moonlighting. He then had a recurring role as a lawyer on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
His biggest acting role came with Babylon 5. He played Michael Garibaldi, the head of security. This was his first major starring role.
Voice Acting and Other Projects
From 1996 to 1997, Jerry Doyle used his voice for a cartoon. He was the voice of the main character in Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys.
Jerry also started his own company to make TV shows and independent films. He called this an "experiment." He worked on a series about World War II aircraft called Keep 'em Flying. He often appeared as a guest on TV shows like Midpoint on Newsmax Media TV and Fox & Friends.
Radio Show Success
Jerry Doyle's radio show, The Jerry Doyle Show, was very popular. It aired on the Talk Radio Network on weekdays. By early 2012, it was the sixth most popular talk radio show in the country. It had about 3.75 million listeners every week.
In October 2012, Jerry's show took over a time slot previously held by The Savage Nation. This meant his show was now heard on about 300 radio stations. In February 2013, he launched EpicTimes. This website was a place for both news and fun stories.
Personal Life
Jerry Doyle was married to his Babylon 5 co-star Andrea Thompson. They were married from 1995 to 1997. Their wedding was a short ceremony in Cabo San Lucas.
Political Involvement
After his time on Babylon 5, Jerry Doyle became involved in politics. He ran for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2000. He ran as a candidate for the Republican Party in California.
He won the primary election without spending any money on his campaign. However, in the main election, he lost to the Democratic candidate, Brad Sherman. In December 2011, Jerry Doyle supported Ron Paul for President of the United States.
Passing Away
Jerry Doyle passed away on July 27, 2016. He was found at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 60 years old. Many of his former co-stars shared their sadness after hearing the news.
