Jeremiah "Jerry" O'Connell (born February 17, 1974) is a well-known American actor and TV show host. He started acting at a young age and has been in many popular movies and TV shows.
You might know him from his roles as Quinn Mallory in the TV series Sliders, or as Vern Tessio in the classic movie Stand by Me (1986). He also played Joe in Joe's Apartment (1996) and Charlie Carbone in Kangaroo Jack (2003). More recently, he has been the voice of Commander Jack Ransom in the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks and has hosted the game show Pictionary.

Early Life and Education
Jerry O'Connell was born in New York City. His mother, Linda, was a special education teacher, and his father, Michael, was an art director from the United Kingdom. Jerry has a younger brother, Charlie O'Connell, who is also an actor.
Growing up, Jerry lived in Manhattan. He went to the Professional Children's School, which is a school for young performers. After high school, he attended New York University from 1991 to 1994, where he studied film. He also joined the fencing team and was even the captain of the sabre squad! He finished his studies in 1995.
Acting Career Highlights
Jerry O'Connell began his acting journey when he was very young, appearing in commercials. When he was just eleven years old, he got his first big movie role as Vern Tessio in the movie Stand by Me. This movie became very famous.
In 1988, Jerry started starring in the Canadian science-fiction TV show My Secret Identity. He played a teen hero who gained superhuman abilities. Later, while he was still in college, he got the role of Quinn Mallory in the TV series Sliders. This show was about a group of friends who could travel to different parallel universes. Jerry also helped produce, write, and direct some episodes of Sliders.
Jerry has been in many other movies, including Jerry Maguire, Scream 2, Mission to Mars, and Kangaroo Jack. He also played Detective Woody Hoyt in the crime drama Crossing Jordan for several years.
In 2010, he starred in the comedy horror film Piranha 3D. He also played Pete Kaczmarek in the TV show The Defenders.
Jerry has also lent his voice to animated characters. He voiced Captain Marvel in the Justice League Unlimited animated series and in the short film Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam. He also voiced Superman in several animated movies like Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and The Death of Superman.
More recently, Jerry has taken on hosting roles. He became a permanent co-host on the talk show The Talk in July 2021. He also started hosting a new version of the game show Pictionary in 2022. In 2022, he and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, hosted The Real Love Boat together.

Personal Life
On July 14, 2007, Jerry O'Connell married actress and former supermodel Rebecca Romijn. They have twin daughters, who were born in 2008.
In 2009, Jerry started studying law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. However, he decided to leave law school to focus on his acting career full-time.
Jerry O'Connell has dual citizenship, meaning he is a citizen of both America and Britain. He is also a big fan of fantasy football and often talks about it on the podcast Pardon My Take.
