Jerry Yan (born Liao Yang-zhen on January 1, 1977) is a famous actor, model, and singer from Taiwan. He was a member of the popular boy band F4. Jerry is best known for playing the main character, Daoming Si, in the TV show Meteor Garden and its next season, Meteor Garden II.

Starting as a Model and Actor

Jerry began his career as a model in 2000. Before that, he won two modeling contests in 1998. He appeared in many advertisements and music videos. In 2000, he started acting with a small role in a TV show called Spicy Teacher.

Becoming Famous with Meteor Garden

Jerry became very famous across Asia because of his role as Daoming Si in the hit Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden. He also starred in the second season, Meteor Garden II. After the show, Jerry and the other main actors, Vic Chou, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu, formed a boy band called F4. They released three music albums together.

Solo Music and Film Projects

In 2004, Jerry released his first solo album, Jerry for You. This album was very successful and was named one of the "Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year" in Hong Kong.
