Vic Chou (Chinese: 周渝民; pinyin: Zhōu Yúmín; born on June 9, 1981) is a famous Taiwanese actor and singer. He is well-known for being a member of the popular Taiwanese boy band F4.

Becoming a Star with F4

Vic Chou first became famous for his role as Hua Ze Lei in the very popular TV show Meteor Garden. This show was a huge hit! After the series ended, Vic and his co-stars from Meteor Garden—Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu—decided to form a music group. They became the boy band F4 and released three music albums together.

His Music Career

Vic Chou was the first member of F4 to release his own solo album. His first album, Make a Wish, came out in January 2002. He then released his second album, Remember, I Love You, in January 2004. His third album, I'm Not F4, was released in October 2007. This album was very successful and stayed at the top of Taiwan's music charts for three weeks.

His Acting Career

Besides Meteor Garden, Vic Chou has acted in many other Taiwanese TV shows. Early in his career, he appeared in shows like Poor Prince and Love Storm.

A big change in his acting came with the 2004 TV series Mars. In this show, Vic played a challenging role as twins who faced mental health struggles. Vic has said that this role made him truly interested in acting. Since then, he has chosen more complex characters. He played a lonely businessman in Silence and a grumpy perfectionist in Sweet Relationship. He also played an awkward but passionate writer in Wish to See You Again.

In 2008, Vic Chou made his first movie, Linger, where he starred alongside Li Bingbing.

In 2009, he took on a different kind of role in the police drama Black & White. He played a complex policeman with a difficult past. His performance in Black & White earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the 44th Golden Bell Awards.

In 2010, Vic won the "Most Popular Taiwanese Actor" award at the Seoul International Drama Awards. That same year, he starred in the romantic film Love You 10,000 Years. This movie was very popular in Taiwan and won an award at the Osaka Asian Film Festival.

In 2013, Vic Chou won the Golden Bell Award for Best Actor for his role in the TV series Home. He has also starred in several sequel films like Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2 and Go Lala Go 2. He also appeared in the suspense film Detective Gui and the comedy Two Wrongs Make A Right.

Vic returned to TV in 2018 with two historical dramas, Beauties in the Closet and The Flame's Daughter. He also played Zhao Heng in the historical drama Palace of Devotion in 2021. More recently, in 2023, he starred in the series Reblooming Blue and The World Between Us II.
