Jesús Torbado (born January 4, 1943 – died August 22, 2018) was a talented Spanish writer, journalist, and traveler. He was born in León, a city in Spain, and later studied journalism in Madrid.

A Champion Writer
Jesús Torbado was known for his amazing books and stories. He won several important awards for his writing.
Winning Awards
- In 1965, he won the Premio Alfaguara for his novel Las corrupciones. This was a big achievement early in his career!
- Later, in 1976, he received the Premio Planeta for his book En el día de hoy. This book was about the Spanish Civil War, a difficult time in Spain's history.
- He also won the Premio Ateneo de Sevilla in 1993 for his book El peregrino.
