Jessica Brooke Capshaw (born August 9, 1976) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Jamie Stringer in the TV show The Practice. She also played Dr. Arizona Robbins on the medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

Early life and Education
Jessica Capshaw was born in Columbia, Missouri. Her mother, Kate Capshaw, married famous director Steven Spielberg when Jessica was 15 years old. This made Steven Spielberg her stepfather.
Jessica went to Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. She finished there in 1994. After that, she studied at Brown University. She acted in plays like Arcadia and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof while there. She earned a degree in English literature in 1998. During her summer breaks, she also took acting classes in London. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA). There, she played the character Puck in a play called A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Acting Career Highlights
Jessica Capshaw started her acting career with small roles. At 19, she was in the movie The Locusts (1997) with her mother. She also appeared in the independent film Denial (1998).
