Jessica Cauffiel is an American actress and singer. She is famous for playing Margot in the movies Legally Blonde (2001) and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003). She also played Tori in White Chicks (2004). Jessica has appeared in other films like Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000), Valentine (2001), and The World's Fastest Indian (2005).
Early life
Jessica Cauffiel was born in Detroit, Michigan, in the United States. Her mother, Deborah, works as a social worker. Her father, Lowell Cauffiel, is a writer who focuses on true crime stories. He also writes screenplays and produces television documentaries.
Jessica studied at the University of Michigan School of Music. She earned a degree in Musical Theatre and Vocal Jazz. Before she finished college, she sang on a cruise ship. She also performed in jazz and blues clubs. Jessica was part of several bands, including Jazodity and Tribe of Zoe.
Career
Acting roles
Jessica Cauffiel started her acting career in New York. She performed in many plays both Off-Broadway and in regional theaters. Some of her theater shows included 1001 Nights and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
In 1999, Jessica made her first movie appearance in The Out-of-Towners. That same year, she also made her television debut on the show Law & Order. She later appeared as Kit on the TV comedy Frasier.
In 2000, Jessica starred in the comedy film Road Trip. She also appeared in Urban Legends: Final Cut. In 2001, she had a main role in the movie Valentine. She also co-starred in the romantic comedy You Stupid Man.
Jessica became well-known for her roles in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. She also appeared in the popular 2004 comedy White Chicks.
She had important roles in the movies Stuck on You and Guess Who. In 2005, she co-starred in The World's Fastest Indian. This movie was about the real-life story of Burt Munro. In 2006, she had a supporting role in Hoot, a film based on a novel by Carl Hiaasen. From 2006 to 2007, she had a recurring role on the NBC TV series My Name Is Earl.
After taking a break from acting, Jessica returned in 2009. She played Amy Clayton in the Hallmark Channel TV movie Ice Dreams. In this film, she played a former Olympic figure skater who coaches a young girl. In 2009, Jessica also helped produce and starred in a short comedy film called Bed Ridden. Her father wrote and produced this film.
Music career
Jessica Cauffiel has also performed as a singer. She sang live in Dharamshala, India. She also contributed her voice to the album Shanti by Snatam Kaur. Another album she worked on was Grateful Ganesh by Guruganesh Singh Khalsa.
