Jessica Lucas (born September 24, 1985) is a Canadian actress. She is well-known for her roles in many TV shows like The Resident, Edgemont, Melrose Place, Cult, and Gotham. She has also appeared in movies such as The Covenant, Cloverfield, and the 2013 film Evil Dead. Jessica also appeared in the music video for Coldplay's song "True Love" in 2014.

Early Life and Acting Start

Jessica Lucas was born and grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her father is Black Canadian, and her mother is European Canadian. She started acting when she was just seven years old. She trained at the Children's Arts Theatre School in Toronto. Before appearing on TV and in movies, she performed in many plays on stage. These included local shows like Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, Grease, Cinderella, and Mousetrap.

Early TV Roles

In 2001, Jessica joined the Canadian teen drama TV series Edgemont. She played a character named Bekka Lawrence. She started as a recurring character and later became a main cast member until the show ended in 2005. In 2002, she was also a main character in another Canadian TV show called 2030 CE.

She later appeared in the ABC teen drama series Life as We Know It as Sue. This show ran for one season.

Movies and More TV Shows

In 2006, Jessica appeared in the movie She's the Man. She also co-starred in The Covenant. In 2007, she had a recurring role in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Ronnie Lake.

In 2008, she guest-starred in four episodes of The CW's 90210. That same year, she played a main role as Lily in J. J. Abrams' movie Cloverfield. This movie was very popular and received good reviews. She also starred in the film Amusement, which was released in 2009. Later in 2009, Jessica joined the cast of Melrose Place, a new version of a popular show from the 1990s.
