Jessica Nilsson facts for kids
Jessica Nilsson (born 11 January 1965) is a film director from Sweden who now lives in Denmark. She is known for directing many different types of films and other creative works.
Jessica was born and grew up in Sweden. In 1989, she moved to Denmark. She studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later graduated from the National Film School of Denmark. Her short film Pølsen won First Prize at the Oslo Short Film Festival in 1998.
Another one of her films, Spotless, was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001. It was also shown at the Odense International Film Festival in 2000, where Jessica received the Danish Directors' Prize of Merit. Spotless also won a Special Jury Prize at Flickerfest in 2001 in Sydney, Australia.
Jessica Nilsson writes and directs many different projects. These include documentaries, short movies, music videos, commercials, and radio plays. She started making radio plays in 2001 with Hullet. In 2005, the Danish Association of the Blind gave her their Radioplay Award for her radio play Flammende kærlighed. This play was produced by Danmarks Radio.
She also directed a feature film called Sverige er fantastisk. This was a road movie starring Lene Maria Christensen, Mette Føns, and Erik Clausen. It was filmed in 2006 and released in 2015.
