Jessup (sometimes called Jessups Station) is a small place in Indiana, USA. It's not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it's an unincorporated community. This means it's part of a larger area called Florida Township in Parke County.
History of Jessup
Jessup has a simple but interesting past. A long time ago, in 1867, a post office was opened there. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, helping the community connect with the outside world. It finally closed its doors in 1948.
The community got its name from an early settler. This person, known as Mr. Jessup, was one of the first people to live in the area. He was an important and well-known resident, so the community was named after him.
