Virgilio Viernes Hilario Jr. (born August 11, 1976), known to many as Jhong Hilario, is a famous Filipino actor, dancer, TV host, and politician. He was once a member of the popular dance group Streetboys.
Today, he serves as a councilor in Makati City, representing its 1st district since 2016. You might also know him from his roles as a villain in TV shows like Gary David in Mara Clara and Homer "Alakdan" Adlawan in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. He is also a regular host on the TV show It's Showtime.

Early Life and School Days
Jhong Hilario was born on August 11, 1976, in Asingan, Pangasinan. He went to elementary school at Bangkal Elementary School II in Makati. For high school, he studied at South Eastern College in Pasay from 1991 to 1995.
Later, in 1996, he took a special home study program from the Department of Education. In 2023, he graduated with honors (magna cum laude) from Arellano University with a degree in political science. He continued his studies and earned a master's degree in public administration from World Citi Colleges in 2024, also with high honors.
Jhong Hilario's Career Journey
Jhong Hilario started his career in 1993 as a dancer with the group Streetboys. He then began acting in 1996.
Acting in Movies and TV Shows
As an actor, Jhong has been in many movies. Some of his notable films include Muro Ami (1999), where he played Butong, D' Anothers (2005), and Dekada '70 (2002).
In 2012, he joined the popular ABS-CBN noontime show It's Showtime. He first started as a judge and later became one of the main hosts.
From 2017 to 2019, he played Homer "Alakdan" Adlawan in the hit TV series FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. This role became one of his most well-known characters. He left the show to focus on his re-election campaign as a councilor.
In 2021, Jhong Hilario was a contestant on Your Face Sounds Familiar (Season 3). He won the first two weeks but decided to leave the competition to ensure his family's safety.
Recently, in 2023, he won the grand prize in the "Magpasikat" segment of It's Showtime with his team, including Kim Chiu and Ion Perez. They donated their prize money of ₱300,000 to a charity they chose.
His Journey in Politics
Jhong Hilario decided to enter politics in 2016. He ran for councilor in the 1st district of Makati under the United Nationalist Alliance party. He shared that his father, Virgilio Sr., who was also a councilor, inspired him to run.
Jhong was re-elected as councilor in 2019 and again in 2022. He received the most votes in all these elections, showing how much people trust him.
Personal Life and Family
Jhong Hilario was previously married to theater actress Michelle Westgate from 2005 to 2011. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2024.
He has a daughter named Sarina Oceania, born in March 2021, with his current partner, Maia Azores.
