Jigs is a Swedish music group, often called a dansband. They started playing music in 1966 in Trollhättan, Sweden. A dansband is a type of band that plays dance-friendly pop music, often for social dancing.
Jigs became very popular in the 1970s. They had many hit songs that people loved to dance to. Some of their well-known songs include Hallå du gamle indian, Bli min gäst, Dardanella, Let's Twist Again, and From a Jack to a King. They also released a series of albums called "Goa bitar," which means "Good bits" or "Good tunes."
An interesting event happened on July 16, 1976. When Jigs was performing at a place called Cortina in Vinberg, another famous rock band, AC/DC, played a short show during Jigs' break!
