Jill Upson is a well-known leader who used to be a Delegate in the West Virginia House of Delegates. She represented the 65th district, which covers Jefferson County, West Virginia. Becoming a Delegate
In 2012, Jill Upson ran for Delegate against Tiffany Lawrence. She did not win that election. However, in 2014, she ran against Tiffany Lawrence again. This time, Jill Upson won the election. She received 56 percent of the votes, while Lawrence received 44 percent.
Re-election and Later Work
In 2016, Jill Upson was re-elected as a Delegate. She won against her challenger, Sammi Brown. In 2018, Sammi Brown won the election against Jill Upson.
After leaving her role as a Delegate in 2019, Jill Upson took on a new important job. She became the executive director of the West Virginia Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs. In this role, she helps support minority groups in West Virginia.
Her Personal Life
Jill Upson is married to Kelvin Upson. Kelvin served in the United States Navy. Jill and Kelvin have one son.
