Jim Florentine, born on August 18, 1964, is a funny American comedian, actor, and writer. He's famous for co-hosting That Metal Show on VH1 Classic. He also used his voice for characters like Special Ed and Bobby Fletcher on the TV show Crank Yankers.
Jim hosts The Jim Florentine Show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and a podcast called Everybody Is Awful (Except You). He has made many comedy albums and TV specials. His book, also called Everybody is Awful (Except You!), was a bestseller in 2018.

Early Life and Family
Jim was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 18, 1964. He grew up in a big family with six brothers and sisters. He started his comedy career in New York City's comedy clubs.
His family lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a few years. His dad tried to start a hot dog business there, but it didn't work out. So, the family moved back to New Jersey.
Jim loved heavy metal music when he was young. He even became a DJ at his college radio station, WCNJ (now WCNM), in Hazlet, New Jersey, in the 1980s.
Starting Comedy
Jim was inspired to try stand-up comedy after seeing Andrew Dice Clay perform. He met Andrew Dice Clay and fellow comedian Jim Norton later on. Jim Florentine and Jim Norton even became opening acts for Andrew Dice Clay.
Jim has a child with Samantha Warner. They were married from 2012 to 2015.
Comedy Career Highlights
In 2001, Jim released his first comedy CD called Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 1. This CD became very popular after being played on The Howard Stern Show. It even reached number two on Amazon.com's music charts!
Crank Yankers
After his second Terrorizing Telemarketers CD came out, Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla noticed Jim's prank calls. They hired him for a new show on Comedy Central called Crank Yankers, which started in 2002.
On Crank Yankers, Jim voiced two popular characters: Special Ed and Bobby Fletcher. Special Ed is a teenager, and Bobby Fletcher is his older cousin. The show was very popular and even featured rapper Eminem doing prank calls with Jim. Crank Yankers ran for several seasons.
That Metal Show
In 2008, Jim became a co-host of That Metal Show on VH1 Classic. He hosted the show with comedian Don Jamieson and rock radio host Eddie Trunk. They talked about hard rock and metal music, interviewed musicians, and gave away prizes. The show stopped in 2015.
Other TV and Film Appearances
Jim has appeared on many other TV shows. These include The Apprentice, Inside the NFL, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. He also voiced a character named Bobbie Ray in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
He has also been in films like A Little Help (2010) and Trainwreck (2015).
Prank Calls and Hidden Camera Shows
Jim is well-known for his Terrorizing Telemarketers CDs. On these CDs, he records calls from telemarketers and tries to make the calls difficult or funny for them.
He also created a hidden camera show called Meet The Creeps with Don Jamieson. They played funny pranks on people. Parts of this show were featured on Comedy Central's online channel, Motherload.
Podcasts and Comedy Specials
In 2011, Jim started his weekly podcast called Comedy, Metal, Midgets. It quickly became one of the most popular comedy podcasts.
He has also released several stand-up comedy albums, like Cringe N Purge (2011) and Awful Jokes From My First Comedy Notebook (2012). Both of these CDs did very well on the music charts. In 2016, he released two comedy specials, I'm Your Savior and A Simple Man.
